Random rants

I was telling someone about an argument I had recently, and my friend said basically: look, stop arguing, no one ever changes their mind about X.

Which got to thinking, what have I ever changed my mind about? I'm not talking about more ephemeral stuff like "didn't used to like spinach, but now I do" or "Boy, I used to love Willow, but now I think she's an annoying whiny loon." I mean the big stuff: the death penalty, welfare, flat tax.

The biggest thing I could come up with personally was that I used to oppose kids dropping out of high school or college to joint the NBA and now I don't.

Salon has a column reviewing the new season of Sesame Street. While Slaon'sbeen irritating immensely lately, this piece is right on. As someone who has been watching far too much children's TV lately (I hear "N-o-g-g--i-n DOT com" in my sleep) I can attest to the fact that Sesame Street does rule.
