Shocked & Appalled

Random rants

"There is no great loss without some small gain"

Ma in the Little House books always used to say that. And it's true -- a very good friend of mine at work has moved on to a new job. I'll miss him dearly.

But I got his big monitor.

Cathy Seipp needs an editor

OK, this makes no sense. So apparently Cathy Seipp got invited to go on some talk show, along with Susan Estrich. Estrich begged off, claiming her kid was sick. Seipp used this to go on a tirade, and diverged off into a long rant about ... I'm not quite sure what. That feminists hate entrepreneurs, apparently. And that the French pay too many taxes. Seriously. And this wasn't even a blog, where, presumably, one is expected to ramble on with no thought process (see below). This was an ostensibly edited article on a web site. Yeesh.

Now, Susan Estrich is highly annoying, and is definitely high up on the list of "People Who Need to Go Away." But geez, Cathy, chill out. Maybe her kid was sick. Or maybe, you know, she just didn't want to do it, and used that as an excuse, as opposed to saying "no, I find you irritating." It's called a little white lie. Look into it.

Cathy -- for all her claims that working at home has worked out just perfectly! No stress! And all you other mothers are whiny leftists, who want us to become socialists! -- clearly needs to take a time out. Or at least have a margarita.
