Elevator News

The elevators in my building have little screens that show news headlines and weather and stuff. The writing is a bit quirky.

This morning, there was a blurb saying that "The president and Congress will get five more weeks to debate the Patriot Act." My first thought was "oh, did Dick Cheney see his shadow?"

Officially an old person

Are cell phones the new lighters? I'm at a concert last night, and at one point I see lots of people waving glowing things in the air. At first I thought, "huh, lots of glow sticks, that's odd." Then I realized people were taking out their cell phones and waving them, the way you used to wave a lighter. Is this a new thing, or am I just an old person now?
