The Wall Street Journal op-ed page continues its inanities.

It Takes a Village

Maybe not the one Hillary Clinton famously wrote about, with its federalized health care and day care and vaccinations.

Right, cause only an evil liberal would want vaccinations. Bring on the pox!

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for the 12-year-old who got sued by the RIAA. If she was stealing cars, would everyone say " aw, she's only 12, let her go?" No, she'd be in juvie. This wasn't some kid who downloaded one song once, and didn't know what was going on. She was sharing 1,000 songs on her computer.

It also drives me nuts that people are saying she should get off because her family is poor. It's not like she stole a loaf of bread to feed her starving baby sister. If they're really that poor, I'm shocked that they can afford to pay for the computer, the ISP service and the $30 or whatever they had paid for Kazaa. Perhaps they should use that money to buy the girl a book on ethics instead.

This is similar to the rationale people use to justify the stealing in the first place "It's ok to steal, if it comes from rich people." No it's not. Stealing is wrong, regardless of who you steal from.

OK, so first DJ Sami does a dance mix cover of Bryan Adams' Heaven. Then I heard Sabelle cover Def Leppard's "Love Bites," Sugar Ray cover Joe Jackson's "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" and The Ataris cover Don Henley's "Boys of Summer." Last week on the radio I heard someone ( I don't know who) do a cover of "Heaven is a Place on Earth" by Belinda Carlisle of all people.

Ok, I like the Sugar Ray and Ataris songs, but people, this has to stop. I am feeling way too old. When did the music of my youth become fodder for pop stars to rerecord as if it were new?
